Building Sonex 982 Sierra X-ray

Bob Meyers' Unofficial Airplane Builders Log

...but not quite as fast as I would like. I had only a little time today for building but tomorrow should be a full build day.

Yesterday was very productive along with what I did today so there are plenty of interesting pictures to see.

Also a lot more commentary then usual.

Here are some pictures of the hanging right wing and the start of the next steps - engine building.

If all goes well, this should be done before the end of the week.

No new pictures, but the entry in the last post has been updated with text to go along with the pictures.

Here is a link to the updated pictures and text.

Thanksgiving has meant lots of cooking. Today was turkey soup and wing hanging day. The table is clear and ready for the engine build starting tomorrow.

Stay tuned...

Working hard.

After the diversion of the crankshaft, I got back to work on the remaining insides of the wing. The wiring and the control rods.

I finished riveting yesterday and did some touchup and finish up items today. The result is both wings are now done.

I didn't want anyone to have to wait for the 45 new pictures so I have posted them without putting in my comments yet. I will put in text in the next day or two and put up a notice to look at them again. Ignore the goofy text, it will be replaced.

For those of you who saw the right wing after the wedding, these pictures recap the process of getting to what you saw this past weekend.

I actually haven't done any work on the wing since but I have done some interesting work as you will see near the end of the post.

Have fun looking at these pictures, I will be working plenty on the airplane over the next few days.
