I have started to build up a head of steam on the forward fuselage.
Here is my latest Sonex Log with the details.

I haven't gotten much done in the last week. I had to clean up the workshop a bit and I did some flying. It's been tough to get in the air with the weather in Chicago.
Also I think the cold finally caught up to my workshop. Earlier cold spells in December and January had some warm days just before and after so I was able to keep the garage fairly warm. Last year it got too cold several times and I stopped working through them.
I thought I had gotten around that but the latest cold streak has let the garage get cold soaked and it was tough to get it up to a comfortable temperature for a lot of the last week.
However, I have gotten some work done. I'm working on F17 which has some gussets, a few cuts of square tube and the upper firewall assembly.
So I have been bending and drilling the precut kit pieces of stainless steel. It bent very well but didn't drill quite so well.
It's back to work now, today was a little warmer.

Here are the results of the last 10 days or so. 16 page with 81 images.
Enjoy the pictures.
It sure feels good to have this done. Almost as good as a wing!

I have had a number of non-building days since the last post and a bunch of building days that went very slowly because of all the deburring that was needed for all of those pieces.
But, the deburring got done (despite how unproductive I get doing it) and the reassembly and riveting went well.
No pictures to post just now but I will work on a post for tomorrow (today really) after Kathy and I get back from the Autoshow in the afternoon.
You'll just have to wait!

Wasn't able to finish it before the end of January, my unofficial target, but it will look nice for our guests at the Super Bowl party that is at our house this year.
Here is the new Sonex Log!
