Here are the latest pictures.
Except for polishing, this piece won't be worked on again until it is attatched to the aircraft. When that happens, the airframe will be almost complete.
Why didn't I finish it yesterday? Two gallons of turkey noodle soup had to be made!

I'll post some pictures this weekend. Hopefully, after I completely finish the vertical stabilizer.
I've been very busy with the holiday and stuff, but I have deburred, cleaned and reassembled for riveting, with the starboard side all riveted.
Fudge making is also starting and after the vertical stabilizer there will be a small break in airplane building.
Stay tuned.

Here are the pictures I promised. I wrote some text on the second page about why these shots are special to me.
The last page describes a screw up and the fix.

No pictures now, but you will want to see these when I put them up later today or tomorrow.
All I'll say is, the parts are more and more looking like airplane parts!!!

Putting the skin on. Pictures.
edit *****
Looks like some text got dropped in the pictures section here. There is a "but..." with no explanation. The long and the short of it was that it was very difficult to get the skin in position on the port side and that my planned techniques did not work well.

Here are the pictures.
I had some problems, but still moving along great.

A comment about Harbor Freight. Yes they are cheap and the things I got from them are great, however. Some of the cheap stuff is cheap for a reason. Take a look at the yellow framing square in this shot from the group above.
I was removing the stickers that were glued on with MEK. I gave the sticker a wipe down to loosen the glue but when I wiped off the excess, it took the painted markings right off!!!
I have only been using these for squaring, not for measuring so no problem and still worth the price for that. But it is very much buyer beware with Harbor Freight.

For the next step, making the vertical stabilizer, I have to make or alter kit parts.
Here are the pictures of the parts I made today.
These were either made from channel stock, angle stock or flat sheet. The kit has a lot of angle and channel stock and came with several flat sheets of aluminum for parts not provided.
I had to cut the parts to a working size, trim and bend them and still have to pilot drill some of them. The last shot shows all the parts for sheet T12. The next step is to assemble them. The rudder will attach to it and the bottom of the fuselage later.
The big bent piece is the pre cut forward spar attach fitting and is the part that was in the bending jig. It came out pretty good.
